Bio:

Korakrit Arunanondchai’s visual vocabulary exudes a contemporary aesthetic that draws from 1960s cultural references. Drawing from an extensive background in printmaking, his work alludes to psychedelic references and computer-generated imagery on large-scale canvases with more recent installations featuring black light, enamel, concrete, and Styrofoam. His present work encompasses installations that explore the framing of painting and the inherent image-object relationship.

Artist Statement:

I make painting installations that address the image-object relationship and the space that art inhabits. An image is a powerful tool and it is important for us to consider the different possibilities that it can perform in the social realm.
