Bio:

Pichan began his career as a self-taught photographer by creating album covers for Makerhead GMM. After relocating to New York City, he received formal training at the School of Visual Arts and has since worked with well-known photographers including DeborahTurbeville, Nitin Vadukul, Andrea Brizzi and Richard Rothman. Pichan's works have appeared in Volume and NUOVO. His solo show Lower East was held at Eat Me Art Space H Gallery in 2007.

Artist Statement:

The temple is the center of Buddhist culture. It is where many people try to rebuild themselves through meditation. Operating a Polaroid camera puts me in a similar state of tranquility, as if it is a method of meditation. I choose windows and hallways as my subject because we often look out of a window or walk through a door without focusing on them.
