Uruphong Raksasad's Agrarian Utopia at Anthology Film Archives
Catch the New York theatrical premiere of Uruphong Raksasad's serenely beautiful film Agragrian Utopia about two families of rice farmers in Chiang Rai who face seizure of the land that they work on. The film is a documentary/fiction hybrid that reveals the current economic and political conflicts faced by Thailand's agricultural community and provides a glimpse into the recent political clashes between the red and yellow shirt protestors. Showing at Anthology Film Archives till June 15.
