The summer’s hottest Thai arts showcase, Siamese Connection: 3012. This is the third year for the annual multidisciplinary arts showcase that highlights the work of the most exciting emerging Thai and Thai-American artists in New York City. This year, Siamese Connection: 3012 will feature 24 jury-selected artists working in a variety of media that includes painting, sculpture, photography, film, design, live performance and music.
Will the year 2012 mark the end of the world or the beginning of a new era? Who can say? But the changes that take place every few centuries are undeniable. Today we see this in the way we interact with our world and with each other. Information is instant. Self-expression is everywhere. The big question is: what can possibly come next?
For Siamese Connection: 3012, Thai Artists Alliance envisions the future one thousand years from now with the optimism and ingenuity that their civilization is known for. It’s a challenge to invent the uninvented and discover the unknown. Imagination is the artists’ primary tool, and the limit of their creativity is the only obstacle. Immerse yourselves in the ideas explored by these Thai artists as they look forward to what the year 3012 may hold.
